SkyLens shows you the sky: airplanes, satellites, and celestial objects — live in augmented reality and on the map.
Why does SkyLens need my location?
Everything overhead is computed from where you stand. Without your location the app cannot know which aircraft, satellites, or celestial objects are above you. See the privacy policy for exactly what the app requests from data sources.
Why does it need the camera?
The Lens is a live camera view with the sky drawn over it. The camera image is processed on your device and never recorded or uploaded. Prefer not to grant it? Map mode works without the camera.
No airplanes are showing
Aircraft positions come from a community network of receivers run by volunteers (adsb.lol). Coverage varies by region. Check your internet connection, then try again near a flight corridor or an airport.
Are satellite positions live?
Orbits are downloaded from CelesTrak and computed on your device — newly launched satellites usually appear within a day. The catalogue refreshes automatically.
The overlay seems misaligned
Compass interference from steel and glass is the usual cause. Move away from large metal structures and wave your phone in a figure-eight to recalibrate. In daylight, catching the Sun in the frame lets SkyLens fine-tune alignment automatically.
